“Don't Drink & Drive” is a unique game that breaks all the rules of a traditional board game by combining , laughter, entertainment and fun with a challenge and a VALUABLE lesson to be learned.The idea of the game is to call a cab to take you home when you've been drinking. This board game acts as a simulator to an actual night of drinking and driving but in the safety of one's home and not actually on the road.
So you're out on the town and you need to go home but you've been drinking. You drive your car around the board to get to the end where home is. On your way home you better call a cab because there are police cars out looking to pull over drunk drivers. If you get pulled over you will have to take a sobriety test ( 1 of 30 different tests, physical challenges, tongue twisters, memory tests, etc.) if you fail the test you will take a dwi card and lose a turn and go to jail, 3 dwi's and you're out of the game. You can also get into an accident and lose a turn, 3 accidents and you're out of the game. If you call a cab you will avoid accidents and Dwi's and make it home safe thus being the winner.
The game was created to help in the fight against drunk driving. When people play this game they will be in the safety and comfort of home or a friends home. They will release by taking sobriety tests how alcohol seriously alters your coordination, speech, memory and balance. Hopefully that will instill in their mind that drinking and driving does not mix. This game can also be a “thinking game” for young adults or teenagers to educate them on the dangers of drinking and driving. If this game saves even just one life, its worth it.
I invented this game to try to turn a negative into a positive. I had gotten arrested for DWI and it ruined my life at the time. I lost my license and my job and put myself in a financial hole. I wanted to help people realize drinking and driving is a big mistake. For me it could have been a lot worse, I could have killed myself or someone else. The best way to learn a lesson is by making a mistake , the second best way to learn something is to have fun while learning. I don't want anyone to learn the hardway by making a mistake drinking and driving because it could be your last mistake. But by playing “Don't Drink & Drive” the board game people will have fun and learn something at the same time.
