A brand new edition of the business management game Monopoly will be soon released! This is an improved version of the classic Monopoly board game which will make the game even more appealing than it already was, by doing major changes of the pawns, in order to adapt at the new present days.
The pawns were created upon the products of the biggest brands on the market. Five from the eight new pawns of the new version of Monopoly ? Monopoly Here and Now ? can represent you as a player as miniature versions of the Toyota Prius or other well-known brands such as: a fry potatoes portion from McDonald's, a cup of Starbucks coffee, a Motorola Razr cell phone and even a New Balance shoe. The fans of the classic version should not despair as the new game still has 11 pawns from the classic edition and The shoe, The hat and the Cannon.
Another change would be that every time the players go through the START square, they will receive $2,000,000 instead of only $200 as in the classic version. The four rail stations- B&Q, Reading, Pennsylvania and Short Line - will be successfully replaced by the biggest American airports : LA International, Kennedy, O?Hare and Atlanta Hartsfield. The names of the streets Atlantic City and New Jersey are now changed into Boston, Washington, Las Vegas and Hollywood.
The new pawns are one of the features that help the Monopoly board game to reinvent itself and adapt to modern times. It is a trend named brand entertainment which promotes the production of products based on novels, movies, PC games or even songs. Surprisingly, the brands chosen by Hasbro were chosen without their knowledge nor paid any fees, based only by the preference of the American consumers.
In spite of what many fans of the Monopoly board game would think, the new edition is not a thematic one, as the Red Sox Edition (with pawns like baseball hats) or the Star Wars Edition, which has pawns made to resemble the characters from the movie. It is a base product that is supposed to increase more the finances of Hasbro, at a $30 price. The Monopoly board game will soon give up the cash. Visa made a deal with Hasbro and the game will soon use instead of old cash, miniature copies of Visa cards, along with small computers that will help with the transactions.
